Why use our letter templates?
Professional correspondence is not only a matter of tone. A formal notice starts late interest running. A lease termination triggers a notice period. A badly dated reminder weakens a file in court. What matters is what the document lets you prove afterwards.
Our letter templates therefore rest on three elements. First, the exact identification of the parties. Second, the precise sum or obligation. Third, the deadline given to the recipient. A demand for payment without a deadline does not count as a formal notice, whatever words it uses.
Juristelo currently offers three letter templates for Belgium. The first demands payment of an unpaid sum. The second ends a lease on a main residence. The third cancels a subscription or contract. You fill in a few fields, then AI drafts a document ready to sign, following guidance written for Belgian law.
Every document exists in French, Dutch and English, and you export it to Word or PDF. Keep a record of what you sent and when: dated copy, proof of registered post, earlier exchanges that establish the debt. Without them, even well-drafted correspondence loses its force.
Every template also follows a clear structure: place and date, sender, recipient, subject, body and closing formula. The recipient sees at once who writes, why and by when a reply is due.

Frequently asked questions
- What deadline should you give?
- In a formal notice, allow eight to fifteen calendar days from receipt, unless the contract says otherwise. A shorter deadline may look unreasonable. With no deadline at all, the document loses its status as a formal notice.
- What notice applies to a rented home?
- For a main residence in Belgium, the tenant's notice period is generally three months. It starts on the first day of the month after notification. Send the notice by registered post and ask for an exit inventory. Lease rules differ between Belgium's three regions, so check your own region's rules too.
- Does an email carry the same weight?
- In substance, yes: electronic writing counts as evidence. A plain email, however, proves sending but not receipt. For a formal notice or a termination, back it up with registered post, or use a qualified electronic registered delivery service.
- Must a formal notice go by registered post?
- The law does not require it in every case. Still, registered post with acknowledgement of receipt lets you prove the delivery date in court. Without that proof, late interest and penalty clauses become hard to claim.
- Can you try it without an account?
- Yes. Fill in the form of one of our letter templates and AI drafts the document. A preview appears straight away. The full version unlocks once you create an account.
- Can you change the wording?
- Yes. Export to Word and adjust any sentence before you sign. Keep the parties, the amount and the deadline intact, since they give the document its effect.
